Medicinal tourism in Dombóvár-Gunarasfürdő is based on the local certified medicinal water that is rich in fluoride and hydrogen carbonate. The Health Minister declared on 30 November 1977 that the water found in Gunaras was medicinal water, and the spa was renamed medicinal spa on the same day.

 

The water offers an excellent treatment for motor system disorders as well as gastric and enteric conditions, gynaecological, gum and mouth problems, but it is also successfully used for certain respiratory and cardiovascular conditions and skin diseases. There are 22 medicinal services that make use of this excellent water, which is the widest range of spa services not only in the region but in the entire country. Of course, the spa offers traditional wellness, thermal and open-air swimming pool facilities in addition to the rare treasure of medicinal baths.

- Active stages of diseases of the motor system involving wear and inflammation

- Malignant tumours (including leukaemia) within 5 years

- Fever

- Haemophilia

- Tuberculosis

- Pregnancy  

- Phlebitis or thrombosis within 6 months

- Chronic hypertension, sever heart dysfunction

- Post-myocardial infarction (for 6 months)

- Fecal and urinary incontinence

- Epilepsy
